- The Polar Vase, designed by Lionel Pearce, was inspired by Shackleton's expedition to
the North Pole [incorrect, should be South Pole]. Made at Dennis Glassworks,
it was shown at the Franco-British Exhibition, 1908.

Shackleton's South Pole expedition was announced in 1907

George Woodall is credited with having carved this vase.
